Every number on the Dashboard is worked out from the trades in the account and date range you have selected at the top (All accounts or one account; 7D, 30D, 90D, YTD or All). Change either and every card, chart and score updates.
The stat cards
- Net P&L: profit after commissions and swaps, added up. The small line under it shows the number of trades and the total fees.
- Win rate: winning trades ÷ all trades. Break-even trades count as trades but not as wins.
- Profit factor: everything your winners made ÷ everything your losers lost. Above 1 means you made more than you lost; 2 means you made twice what you lost.
- Expectancy: net P&L ÷ number of trades, so what an average trade is worth to you. If you fill in risk on your trades, the average R shows next to it.
- Avg win / loss: average winner ÷ average loser. 1.5 means your average win is one and a half times your average loss.
- Max drawdown: the biggest drop from a high point of your running P&L to a later low, by close time. Shown as money and as a % of your starting balance.
Set each account's balance under Accounts & import in the journal menu so the drawdown % and the Edge Score's drawdown part are right.
Edge Score (0 to 100)
The Edge Score sums up how solid your trading is in one number. It is the average of six parts, each scored 0 to 100, shown as bars next to the score:
| Part | What it measures | Full marks at |
|---|---|---|
| Win rate | your win rate | 70% or higher |
| Profit factor | winners' total ÷ losers' total | 3.0 or higher |
| Avg win/loss | average winner ÷ average loser | 3.0 or higher |
| Recovery factor | net P&L ÷ max drawdown | 5 or higher |
| Consistency | how little of your profit comes from your single best day | best day is a small share of net P&L (0 if net P&L isn't positive) |
| Drawdown control | max drawdown compared with 20% of your starting balance | no drawdown; a drawdown of 20% of balance or more scores 0 |
Each part grows in a straight line up to its full-marks point. For example a 35% win rate scores 50 on the win rate part, and a profit factor of 1.5 scores 50 on profit factor.
How to raise it: cut the trades and setups that lose (see the patterns below, and Analytics, which breaks your P&L down by symbol, day of week, hour, setup, long vs short, hold time, mistakes, tags, emotion and month), keep losses small next to wins, and avoid one huge day carrying the whole month. A low score on a handful of trades means little: it settles once you have a few dozen trades in the range.
Pattern detection (AI coach page)
Once you have at least 5 trades in the range, SniperJournal looks for habits and lists them under Pattern detection on the AI coach page (on every plan; the coach chat itself is Regular and Pro). Each one needs enough trades to show up:
- Trades taken within 15 min of a loss (revenge trading): 3 or more trades opened less than 15 minutes after a losing trade closed, with their P&L and win rate next to your overall numbers.
- After 3 losses in a row (tilt): trades taken while already 3 or more losses deep.
- Heavy days: your busiest days (1.5× your average number of trades and at least 3) compared with normal days.
- Best and worst hour: by the hour you opened the trade (hours with 4+ trades).
- Your leak: the symbol losing you the most (symbols with 4+ trades), next to your best symbol.
- One-trade blowups: your largest loss is more than 3× your average loss.
- Hold time: whether you hold losers much longer than winners (1.6× or more) or let winners run.
- Mistakes: what the mistakes you tagged on trades have cost you.
- Best playbook: your setups compared by expectancy (setups with 4+ trades).
- Costly weekday: the day of the week that loses you the most.
P&L calendar
The calendar shows each day's net P&L, green for up days and red for down days. Click a day to see the trades closed that day. The Daily P&L chart on the Dashboard shows the same days as bars.
